FAQs

I’ve compiled some of the most frequent questions I get in regards to custom illustrations. Don’t see your question here? Shoot me an email and I’d be happy to help!

What type of photos do you need?

I can work with any clear photos of the subjects to be illustrated. You can even provide me links to websites or instagram handles if that is easier.

Do you need photos of the person to be illustrated?

No! I can also work off of descriptions provided, sample photos of what you are envisioning, and even general characteristics.

How long does a custom illustration take?

My turn around time is typically 2-3 weeks, but that can vary throughout the year. I try to clearly communicate the timeline within the quote I provide.

Can I get a digital copy?

Yes. I provide JPEGs upon request for personal illustrations. I do ask that anytime they are posted publicly, credit is given to me as the artist.

How do you ship your illustrations?

I typically use USPS Priority Mail with tracking. All illustrations are packaged in a cello wrapper with a cardboard backer and mailed in a cardboard envelope. If there is a different shipping service you would like used, this can usually be accommodated.

Why do you require a 50% deposit to start work?

The deposit secures your spot in my schedule. This allows me to accurately predict workload and deadlines to ensure all clients get their art on their promised date.

Will the illustration be an exact replica of the photo I provide?

No. The illustration will be a representation of my artistic vision of what you have asked for. You will have an opportunity to make changes prior to the final illustration to ensure it is what you are envisioning. I will do my best to capture your vision, but in the end, it is my artistic style and interpretation.

What sizes do you offer?

I currently offer 5x7 and 8x10 but can make accomodations for larger sizes if requested.

Do you offer rush services?

If you need an illustration quickly, ask! It depends on workload and timing, but many times I can accomodate and make it happen. There are additional rush fees charged for this service.

Can I get my illustration printed on other items?

Yes! Let me know what you are thinking and I can get you a quote. I've done phone cases, business cards, stationery cards, etc.
