Hello Monday! You snuck up on me quickly after this weekend. Saturday and Sunday are now a distant blur. To brighten the mood, I’ve got inspiration from Alicia at Cheetah is the New Black today. Don’t know her? Pop on over to her blog and take a look. In addition to her great style (Girly meets edgy tomboy as quoted to The Glitter Guide), love of all things animal print, and being an editor on The Glitter Guide, she has quite a few fun DIY projects on her blog. From the title, how could my card not include inspiration with animal print? One of my favorites as many of you know.

The card is a birthday card for my friend Caroline. I was inspired by the print on the Gryphon coat (LOVE!) Alicia is wearing. I’ve loosely interpreted it with the blue printed paper and then I stamped the background a brick red (it’s not as red as it looks in the picture- more orange in it). The envelope in leopard print reminds me of her clutch, and I thought it was the perfect place to store the sentiment. Finally, I added the dress form to represent black of  the leather pants and the whole outfit in general. It’s a bit abstract, but it works.

Happy Monday!
