Love in the college mailroom

Sharing a custom piece from the holidays that I just LOVED working on! My client wanted me to illustrate her mom from when she was in college in the late 1960’s. Once we started talking about how the illustration would come together, she decided she also wanted to add some of the college mailboxes as a background. it was where her mom and dad first met - working in the mailroom together. And they held such sentimental value for them. How sweet is that? And such a thoughtful gift.

I love being able to pull together memories, stories, inside jokes, you name it into my illustrations. They become personal mementos for both the gifter and giftee.
